Linkfeed.io is a link-first platform. The app allows users to quickly post a link to their public feed with a browser extension (currently Firefox & Chrome compatible). You can embed your linkfeed on your website or share your profile. The browser extensions work with multiple accounts so you can switch and post a new link to an account of your choice. You can have different accounts for different topics, you can follow friends and see what they share too. Once you've completed a minimum amount of posts, you get a random button for your personal linkfeed to stumble upon any links shared within your feed and anyone you follow.
Social media doesn't like when you share links. In fact, you're normally penalized for having external links in your post(s). You've probably seen this scenario on Twitter or Linkedin: a long post with the link to details stuck in a comment below.
Linkfeed.io is made for link sharing.
Developed a social app from scratch. We got two browser extensions accepted to app stores that work perfectly. Ultimately, this small observation led to launching tiny platform for link sharing.
The results were interesting. I personally like using the app to have a long list of links and share it on my blog like this, Anthony's Linkfeed.
The other result was... spam. Many, many people signed up and posted links but they were all junk accounts and cleaned out. This is something to consider whenever building anything with unmoderated user generated content. Over time and with popularity, it will become flooded with undesirable content.
