This solution was built out of personal necessity after missing too many shows. The solution was to build a daily email which reports every new episode that was on TV last night. The app collects every new episode that aired and emails them every morning.
A simple utility to remind you that Law & Order is back from hiatus or Saturday Night Live had a new episode last night. Maybe you're a fan of Rhett & Link from Good Mythical Morning or Hot Ones and want to stay on top of new releases. Even some popular YouTube shows are covered too.
TV show schedules have been more and more variable. People are using multiple streaming subscriptions instead of regular TV. TV is barely about the airing schedule anymore. Even more so, streaming has introduced an almost overwhelming amount of new shows and movies. How can we stay on top of new releases, returning series and weed out the reruns?
The original solution was to scrape TV listings, compile an email and using a wacky MailChimp hack, have the email send daily.
That solution was abandoned after the data source blocked the scraping activity, which is totally understandable.
At the same time, people were signing up quickly which trended the cost of the daily email into the thousands per month (with Mailchimp).
Ultimately, the solution was to use a phenomenal app called Feedzy + a free TV listing API to reduce the cost to pennies, improve the listings drastically and build a stable daily newsletter.
As of 3/2026, there are 400 subscribers to WWOTVLN!
